Watch rare SUZI QUATRO jam onstage with ALICE COOPER at Pine Knob, USA August 2024

Suzi with Alice 1

Alice Cooper returns to his original hometown of Detroit, MI quite frequently, sometimes more than once in a given year.

Suzi Quatro, not so much!

But on Friday night, August 30th, at the Pine Knob Music Theatre we got both at once!

The bass-playing Suzi Quatro, who resides in England, made a surprise appearance with Alice and his band for the classic hit "School's Out," the finale of the highly theatrical 'Freaks On Parade' tour show featuring Rob Zombie, Ministry and Filter.

"You cannot say Detroit...You cannot say Detroit rock without Suzi Quatro," Cooper told the almost sold out crowd as confetti swirled around the stage.

Alice And Suzi II

Cooper and Quatro originally became friendly during the early 1970s, when the Detroit-born shock rocker and the original ALICE COOPER BAND moved back to the area from Los Angeles.

Suzi Quatro has explained that her bands at the time, the Pleasure Seekers and Cradle, even rehearsed in the barn on the farm Alice and entourage were leasing in Pontiac at the time.

In 1975, Suzi Quatro joined Alice Cooper as a support act on his 'Welcome To My Nightmare' tour across the United States, marking a significant moment in their friendship. Both rising stars in the rock scene, Quatro and Cooper shared a deep respect for each other's unique stage personas and musical styles. Quatro, known for her powerful presence and bass guitar skills, complemented Cooper's theatrical performances, which were a blend of rock and shock.

This period marked the beginning of a long-lasting friendship, with both artists continuing to support and inspire each other throughout their careers.

In 2019 Alice Cooper even released a cover-version of Suzi's classic hit "Your Mama Won't Like Me', included on his 'The Breadcrumbs EP'.
